On February 22nd of 2019 I did something I never had imagined. I, Amanda, purchased a brand new vehicle 100% on my own. No co-signer, no lease; just my credit and a down payment. To say I was proud was an understatement. I was the first person in my family to achieve this level of success. There were SO many things that went in to this purchase, this achievement.

When I got divorced, as previously stated, I refused bankruptcy. Through hard work, I was able to not only maintain but increase my payments to shrink my overall debt. In turn, this raised my credit score significantly. I also was able to make enough for a solid down payment while planning and taking trips all over the country. I did that. Through guidance and hard work, I DID it.

Driving her off the lot, I wanted to cry. My heart was bursting with joy and pride. I did it. I DID it. I DID IT!!!! I was literally squealing with excitement as I drove her home, doing my little dancey dance in the front seat cranking the radio up with the windows down. God bless Texas weather being nice enough in February to do so. I'm beaming ear to ear as I sit and wonder about all the places we'd go, all the adventures we'd have. I knew that my next job was in Illinois just a few weeks away. Won't have had her even a month and I was putting her to work. Big work.

My Bebe is a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk 4WD 6 cyl 3.2L. Got myself a brand new Jeep with remote start, keyless, rock rails, steel wheels, all terrain tires, off-road capabilities, warranty package, the WORKS. There were a number of reasons I wanted the Trail Hawk. I knew that being a part of the turnaround circuit followed my plans for travel. We were fixing to go anywhere they sent me with a big ol' smile. This meant that I needed to be able to pack and secure all my belongings and office supplies while also being prepared for any road condition possibilities. I originally looked at Wrangler like I had before but the desire to modify was too great and I knew I did not want a secure hard top with a Wrangler. My Trail Hawk gives me everything I wanted with sleek elegance. She looks as smooth as she drives. She's an absolute beast AND she's comfortable to boot. I couldn't have asked for a better vehicle.

I named her Bebe for a multitude of reasons. Bebe stands for "Beautiful Badass." I mean look at her! It's amazing. Unfortunately, that is not a politically correct term to tell most people and it would make for a long sticker should I ever decide to brand her. Therefore, Bebe for short. She's also the gunmetal color of a BB Gun pellet. Seemed fitting too. Look pretty, shoot wild. To top it off, "baby" in Spanish is "bebé." She is absolutely my baby and I treat her as such.

She gave me freedom. She is my wings. She is my home. I have spent more time with her than I have most of my friends or family in the last few years. We have laughed, cried, been stuck, and struck. We've gotten into some pretty hairy situations but always find a way out, together. She is the one thing I know I can count on in my crazy life. And I bought her, all for me. She may be just a vehicle to some, but to me she is My Jeep. My Bebe.

Cleaned up to show her off the day after I got her
